Basuri Chokshi is a muralist and painter based in Ahmedabad, India.

A storyteller on canvas, she designs and creates bespoke hand-painted murals and exclusive, tailored artwork, infusing spaces with timeless elegance. Collaboration, sound research, and masterful execution are signature markers of her process.

Woven into the rhythm of everyday life.
Basuri’s journey into art began unknowingly in childhood, woven into the rhythm of everyday life. It revealed itself in the carved details of the family home, built by her grandfather. In the sketches she would see her father draw, and turn into intricate pieces of jewellery at his workshop. In the garland of fresh flowers her grandmother wove every morning, to offer to the family deity. In the exquisite colours and patterns of pichhwai paintings that her mother adorned their home temple with, changing them routinely with season and occasion.
Blend of  nature-inspired  themes
Basuri’s visual language is a harmonious blend of nature-inspired themes and emotional depth expressed using traditional elements and contemporary techniques, resulting in artworks that are both aesthetically-pleasing and thought-provoking
Bathed in these inspirations, Basuri soon found her own voice in painting, exploring and experimenting with different techniques and styles as a journal of her emotions. This led her to conducting innovative workshops under her banner, Paint Thy Art, exploring art as a tool for self-discovery.
Innately shaped her understanding of spaces & aesthetics;
She studied interior design, which innately shaped her understanding of spaces and aesthetics; and later managed artists in a gallery – an experience that helped her refine her own creative process. Taking commissioned painting projects, Basuri discovered her passion for murals with her first wall painting project in 2016 – and there was no looking back.
From conceptualising  framed artworks to double-storey murals
Basuri has worked across scales, from conceptualising framed artworks to double-storey murals and intricate panels spanning 2,000 sq. ft. She has translated her vision to varying surfaces—walls, textiles, wood, canvas—crafting unique
identities for private clients as well as accentuating brand narratives for global names, like Starbucks.

Be it an intimate, detail-rich piece or a large-scale turnkey project, Basuri’s work seamlessly integrates into its surroundings. Using soft, muted palettes and diversepainting techniques, she introduces depth and texture, inviting viewers to engage with every nuance without demanding attention.
